Our plans fell through for this afternoon, so we decided to hit the gym after taking yesterday off for Laken's birthday.
I wanted to get a little more time and mileage in so I started with 1 mile on the treadmill then upped my biking to 2 miles. After that, it was back to the treadmill for another mile.
In all it took about 1 hour and 10 minutes, give-or-take.
It felt good to get that amount of miles as I haven't gotten that many for so long!
Tuesday I'd like to get 3 miles on the bike for a total of 5 miles. I'll report back as to if it happens :)

Weekly Weigh-In ~ 2/2/19
Just a little recap: Kaylee and I joined Planet Fitness on Wednesday! It is about 35 minutes from our house so we're planning on making the trip at least 3 times per week. It will usually be on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
We started out modestly with 2.5 miles on Wednesday and 2.5 miles on Friday. (Our schedule was mixed up this past week.) Ultimately, I' d like to get up to 5 miles per workout. (2 on the treadmill and 3 on the recumbent bike.)
***Side note: We made a quick stop at Wal-Mart this morning for Kaylee to get some "gym pants". Why are those things so expensive? We ended up lucking out and finding some on clearance for $5! That's right, $5! As for me, my "gym pants' are getting worn but I refuse to buy new until I'm in a smaller size. Please, Lord, let me get into a smaller size soon!***

Diet
Today is Laken's 12th birthday so we ate at Cracker Barrel and made her a birthday cake. Yes, I could have done without the side of mac-n-cheese but what's done is done...
Sunday's are a pretty low-key eating day for me. I just hope that when getting back onto my regular schedule Monday I can stay on track and have some discipline. I have got to stay out of THE JUNK FOOD and away from snacking!!!
I've been really good with not drinking any soda (or as we call it, pop). I've even gotten to the point that I crave water like I used to crave Diet Dr. Pepper!
Onto the Weigh In:
Starting Weight ~ 297.0
2/1/19 ~ 285.2
Total: -11.8

Journal Entry ~ Planet Fitness ~ 1/30/19
My oldest daughter, Kaylee, and I decided it was time to get to the gym. Back to it for me and for the first time for her!
Last night we talked it over and this morning we made the 30 minute drive to Planet Fitness to sign-up and exercise.
Our plan is to go to Planet Fitness on the days we aren't watching the little one for my cousin. So, at best, 4 days a week for about 1.5 hours a day give or take.
I didn't want to over-do it on the first day back so I walked 1.5 miles on the treadmill and did 1 miles on the bike. I think 2.5 miles for the first day is pretty good. I just hope I'm not terribly sore tomorrow.
I'm hoping that being back at the gym will be a turning point in my weight loss journey.
Here we go!

Journal Entry ~ 1/27/19
Well, here I am months after "starting" this blog and I'm still hovering around 282 lbs. :(
I heard recently that starting new habits on January 1st is hard because everyone is tired and worn out from the holidays. I can agree with this. Not only about being tired, but all the holiday foods are still in the house! This person suggested starting resolutions on February 1st. So, that is what I'm going to try.
I also wanted some way to journal my progress and have gone back and forth between this blog and my main blog, Colletta's Kitchen Sink, or even doing it the old fashioned paper journal way. I had started this blog to keep my weight loss journey separate from my "for fun" blog. I'm going to be giving this some thought over the next week.
My plan: DISCIPLINE!!!
Discipline in my eating for the most part. With 4 days left in January, I'm going to use this time to "practice" getting the junk food out of my diet. Snacking in an unhealthy manner has got to go! It is such an addiction though... In the past, I've been an "all or nothing" with junk food/sweets. I have to give them all up or I just end up eating more than I should. The cravings will be the worst thing to overcome.
I haven't been exercising much lately as I was recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and have been trying to figure out how to exercise without HURTING! Going outside for a walk is out of the question at these temperatures. My Leslie Sansone DVD seems like it is just a bit too intense for my aching body. 1 mile in 12minutes with the DVD is a little more strenuous than a leisurely stroll. I don't know for sure what I'll do and will be giving this some more thought as well.
My goal:
I want to lose 50 lbs by the end of the November. That is 10 months. 5 lbs a month seems doable. If I lose more, all the better.
I've also been debating whether or not to weigh-in every week or weigh-in more or less frequently. If I end up journaling every day, I might weigh in each day just to keep myself on track but do a formal "Weekly Weigh-in" on Friday.
There are a lot of questions running through my mind but I've got to figure this weight thing out.
I'm just not happy where I'm at.
If anyone is reading, please let me know. I really appreciate your time and support :)
